Recently, we had the privilege of being at the Magic Kingdom to view the first ever “Happily Ever After” fireworks spectacular. This new show is the replacement for the “Wishes” fireworks show which was very popular and ran for fourteen years.

We had a largely unobstructed vantage point to view the show, and chose our spot carefully (we are sharing our secret spot with our Mad Hatter family, so don’t forget to ask!). The crowds were amazing, even as the sun went down. Main Street U.S.A. was full of cheer and excitement and everyone around us was practically giddy as the time finally arrived.

The effects in the show are truly spectacular, and the projections on the castle feature a lot of the Disney characters that have been overlooked in previous shows. Characters such as Mulan, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and many more appear larger than life in brilliant color. I won’t spoil it for those who have not seen the show in it’s entirety, but it is not to be missed. The crowd loved it on the first night, and cheers were everywhere at the conclusion of the spectacle. It is a winner, and in all honesty I like it even more than it’s predecessor.
