Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Military Discount Renewed for 2017

Disney World and Disneyland have a military discount that is known as the Armed Forces Salute. The Armed Forces Salute is a special offer that has been renewed annually since 2009.

The Disney Armed Forces Salute offers Disney theme park tickets at over half off the regular price and Disney resort rooms at a 30% to 40% discount.

Please note that there are currently 2 totally separate Disney Armed Forces Salute offers: The 2016 version that is currently running and the 2017 offer will begin in January. It is advisable that you book your Disney Armed Forces package with a reputable Disney Travel Agent, such as the Moffits at Mad Hatter Adventures.

As we mentioned to you already, Disney has two different and separate Disney Armed Forces Salute offers.

The 2016 Salute expires after December 19, 2016 while the 2017 Salute starts on January 3, 2017 and is valid for dates through December 19, 2017.

These are special temporary offers which run for a specified period of time and they do have dates on which they can not be used. (This will be much easier to navigate with the assistance of your Disney Travel expert!)

The Disney Armed Forces Salute allows qualified individuals to purchase steeply discounted Disney theme park tickets. These tickets are totally separate from the regular military magic your way discounted tickets available at military bases and at Shades of Green, located in Walt Disney World.

The Disney Armed Forces Salute also offers outstanding discounts on Disney Resort rooms.

The Disney Armed Forces Salute is offered at both Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and Disneyland in Anaheim, California and may be used at both during the offer dates!

Who is eligible for the Disney Armed Forces Salute?

Here is a list for you to check eligibility as set by the Department of Defense and the Walt Disney Company:

Reserve
National Guard
Coast Guard
Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS)
Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

Retired military members who are:

Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

100% Service Connected Disabled with the correct code on their military issued ID.

Spouses: Please note the Disney Armed Forces Salute benefit is for the member only. While spouses may use the member benefit, they are not entitled to a benefit of their own. They may only use the discounts in place of the member. Non-spouse dependents are not eligible.

Non-remarried widows are entitled to their departed spouse’s discounts.

Foreign partners/Coalition partners stationed at a US base are eligible. These partners must have a permanent US Military issued ID.

TICKETS

The Disney Armed Forces Salute offers special military tickets. These tickets are for a specified number of days and come in several varieties.

Qualified individuals may purchase up to a maximum of 6 theme park tickets per military member during the 2016 and 2017 Salute offer periods.

The tickets are non-refundable.

The tickets are valid for the entire length of their individual offer period,

2016 Disney Armed Forces Salute – January 3 through December 19 2016
2017 Disney Armed Forces Salute – January 1 through December 19 2017

Days on the tickets do not need to be used consecutively. Any days left on the tickets will expire at the end of the offer period.

Tickets purchased at military resellers (except Shades of Green) and not direct from Disney must be activated prior to first use in person by the military member or spouse.

Once the tickets are activated the party can split up. For example some go to one park and some to another, or even use the tickets on different days. The Military ID is checked only upon ticket activation.

Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida Specifics

At Disney World the Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets are 4-day tickets and they come in three types:

The theme Park Hopper Option, which allows you to visit multiple parks on the same day
The Water Park Fun and More Option, which allows 4 entrances to a variety of non-theme Park Disney venues in addition to your 4 theme park days
Both of the above options together on one ticket

April 9 through April 23, 2017 (No Theme Park or Water Park Use)

These tickets can be purchased at Shades of Green, your local Base Ticket Office, or Disney Theme Park ticket booths (Sales tax will be added at Disney World ticket booths).

The last day for purchase or upgrade of WDW tickets is: For 2016 – December 16, 2016 and for 2017 – December 16, 2017

If you purchase only the Hopper or Water Park Fun and More options, you may add on the other option on later for the price difference of the ticket with both options ($34 in 2016 and $37 in 2017) plus tax.

You may also upgrade any Disney Armed Forces Salute ticket to an annual or seasonal pass for the price difference between the Salute price and the full price pass (plus tax).

Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets purchased from Disney or Base Ticket Offices must be upgraded at a Disney World ticket or Guest Relations window.

Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets purchased at Shades of Green may be upgraded there to a ticket with both Hopper and Water Park Fun & More, or to annual or seasonal passes.
Note: These tickets need to be activated at WDW prior to entering a theme park.

Linking your military tickets to your My Disney Experience app account does not activate your tickets! You will still need to do so at Disney with a valid military ID!
FastPass Plus – All military discounted tickets including the Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets are able to be linked to your My Disney Experience account. You can then make your advance FP+ reservations the correct number of days ahead based on where you are staying.
